Umbandaime Ceremonies with Nilo & Marcelo

We are honoured to welcome our teachers within the of the Umbandaime lineage to Casa Floresta for two nights of ceremony this June.

Nilo Maia was born into the medicine path in Brazil as the son of Baixinha, and carries forward her legacy through the music he shares. Rooted in a lineage of deep listening and service, his work bridges tradition and innovation, working to honor the sacred while bringing a fresh, contemporary voice to the ceremonial space. As a musician and producer, Nilo weaves elements of modern jazz with the subtle, expansive landscapes that the medicine path opens. With a refined sensitivity to sound, harmony, and the intelligence of the body, he uses his instrument as a channel by guiding energy, supporting emotional release, and inviting participants into states of connection, balance, and transformation.

Nilo will be joined by his father, a world-renowned musician and spiritual guide, who has spent over four decades facilitating profound healing journeys for thousands around the world. Carrying a deep well of wisdom, integrity, and devotion, his presence adds a powerful layer of protection and support. Together, they offer a rare and heart centered musical experience rooted in lineage, intention, and care.
The father and son duo will be joined by Lorraine, a lifelong singer and song weaver whose path began transposing 12-part choral music for her traveling choir, which has evolved into devotional composition guided by a deep reverence for sound as medicine. Her offerings create a gentle, grounded space for inner connection and comfort.
